While building a new brand from the bottom up, Explora Journeys went to the cruising world to see what people liked and didn’t like. Dining was one of the top priorities. On Explora Journeys, you will have multiple culinary choices. All-day dining in the main restaurant; Concept restaurant where you can celebrate up-and-coming chefs with global cuisine concepts; Pan Asian for a taste of the Orient; Steakhouse; Mediterranean restaurant; International restaurant with cosmopolitan flavors from around the world; Poolside al fresco dining; Chef’s Kitchen, allowing you to prepare exquisite meals with the help of talented chefs or in-suite dining—course-by-course. Next in importance came space—both public space and personal space. Before I get further into the difference with this new brand, I need to explain some verbiage! You are taking a Journey instead of a cruise; crew members are considered Hosts; rather than cabins, you will have suites, penthouses, residences, and homes at sea.; you will have a terrace instead of a balcony and destination experiences instead of shore excursions. Now back to space: guests per host ratio 1.25 : 1—this is amazing! The smallest suite is 377 square feet going all the way to a 3000 square foot home at sea. Terraces range from 75 to 1345 square feet.

There are three outdoor pools, including one for adults only and one indoor pool with a retractable glass roof. There are 64 private cabanas (no surcharge) and multiple indoor and outdoor whirlpools. Explora Journeys will not have extravagant broadway type shows, but with 10 indoor and outdoor bars and lounges, there will be a variety of entertainment options around the ship. Well-being is something else that has become increasingly important. Explora Journeys has nearly 27,000 square feet of outdoor space, an indoor and outdoor spa facility of over 7500 square feet, and a 2900 square foot fitness facility with the latest equipment. There is a yoga studio and a fitness studio for personal training plus access to the spa thermal area at no additional charge. Guests did not want unexpected charges once onboard so naturally, Explora Journeys is all-inclusive. Unlimited beverages, fine wines and premium spirits, specialty coffees, teas, and soft drinks are available anytime, including in-suite mini-bars. Nine diverse culinary experiences as well as in-suite dining at no additional charge. Wellbeing and fitness programs on board and at destinations.
