Public Areas
Each Silversea ship is equipped with a Medical Centre, which is customarily staffed by a doctor and nurse on 24-hour call when at sea. When docked, supplementary emergency care may also be obtained through local medical facilities.
At the time of booking, expectant mothers are required to supply a medical certificate establishing their fitness for travel at the time they are due to travel. Silversea is unable to accommodate women who have entered their twenty-fourth (24th) week of pregnancy during their voyage, and will not be responsible or liable for any complication relative to any pregnancy during the entire duration of the cruise or thereafter. Additionally, airlines may have restrictions that may differ from Silversea’s. Please contact your travel professional or airline.
In consideration of evolving consumer trends, and to further promote a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for all Silversea guests, staff and crew, the smoking policy was updated on January 1, 2013.
Smoking is NOT allowed in:
- Guest suites and guest suite verandas
- All Public Areas, Lounges and Bars
Smoking (including Cigars, Pipes and Cigarettes) is allowed in:
- The Connoisseur's Corner.
- In addition, tables and seating have been made exclusively available outside the Panorama Lounge, the Pool Bar, and specified areas of open decks.
- Tables and seating have been made available outside La Terrazza for cigarette smoking exclusively.
Guests who rely upon wheelchairs must bring their own. Please note that not all shore excursions are suitable for guests with impaired mobility.
All guests are required to report in writing to Silversea at the time their reservation is made:
- Any physical or mental condition that may require medical or professional treatment or attention during the voyage
- Any condition that may render the guest unfit for travel, or that may require special care or assistance
- Any condition that may pose a risk or danger to the guest or anyone else onboard the ship
- Any condition that may require oxygen for medical reasons
- Any intention or need to use a wheelchair aboard ship.
By booking passage and by boarding the ship, the guest represents and warrants that they are physically and otherwise fit to travel, and that the guest will comply at all times with applicable rules and regulations of the ship and orders and instructions of the ship's officers and medical staff. Silversea reserves the right, without liability, to require a guest to disembark and/or to refuse to board and transport a guest who, in the judgment of Silversea or the ship's Master, is unfit to travel or may require care beyond that which Silversea is reasonably able to provide. Those guests requiring wheel-on and/or wheel-off access must contact Silversea prior to making a booking. Silversea reserves the right to deny boarding to any guest who failed to notify Silversea of such requirement at the time of booking.
Silversea ships are equipped to offer wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet access. Guests can use their own laptop to surf the Internet and check emails at Wi-Fi locations throughout the ship, or from the comfort and privacy of their suite. Computers, email and Internet access are also available on board at the Internet Café. However, it is important to understand that telecommunication services while at sea are via satellite and significantly different than high-speed connections on land back home. The signal travels in a similar manner to radio waves but at much greater distances. Therefore, onboard Internet access is not guaranteed at all times. Satellite communications are also affected by weather and the ship's location.
Internet Service Fees
The same rates apply, whether accessing the Internet via personal laptop or via the Internet Café computers. All charges are posted directly to guests' onboard account. No credit is given for unused Time Plan minutes. Rates shown are in US dollars and are subject to change.
- Basic Rate: $0.50 per minute (pay as you go)
- Time Plan 1: 100 minutes for $45 ($0.45 per minute)
- Time Plan 2: 250 minutes for $85 ($0.34 per minute)
- Time Plan 3: 1000 minutes for $250 ($0.25 per minute)
Each Silversea ship is equipped with a Medical Centre, which is customarily staffed by a doctor and nurse on 24-hour call when at sea. The Medical Centre is not intended or designed to provide on-going treatment of pre-existing conditions or for extended critical care, and Silversea is not responsible for the diagnosis, treatment or services furnished by shipboard medical personnel. Guests may be charged for medical services and for medications used for their medical treatment.

Pros: Nice Staff

Pros: The ship was updated and the itinerary was VERY interesting and not your usual excursions and experiences offered.
Cons: The weather was a little rainy in a few places and we were diverted from Valencia to Mallorca and were not able to go to Tunis, but did get an extra day in Palermo.

Pros: Luxurious and spacious accommodations, Outstanding service from attentive crew, Wide variety of dining experiences , Engaging activities and entertainment, Relaxed dress code
Cons: Some dishes not always as hot as expected, Weather affected outdoor dining and arrival schedules
Review:
Pros: Cleanliness, nice staff, outstanding dining.
Cons: One on one service has declined some, staterooms, with the exception of the bathroom, haven’t changed since my first sailing with SilverSea in 2012.
Review: Silversea is always a win with us. We like the service, hospitality and no onboard charges unless ordering a premium bottle of something, the spa, or dining in the French or Japanese restaurants. The one on one service with the butler seems to have gone down since our first sailing, this was our 6th, but eventually things work out. The food is exquisite and my only complaint being a US resident is wanting something lighter and more American for an evening meal.
Pros: Ports, Cabin, Service
Cons: No Cons
Review: Overall all went well except I was a bit dissappointed with Silverseas vs. Other luxury lines i have sailed in the past. Specifically food quality, crowding in public spaces and sometimes what appeared to be a shortage of staff.
Pros: Huge room. Butler service was great.
Cons: All the outlets were on one side of the bed. Television rarely worked .
Review: Great cruise. Very good ports and excursions
Pros: Silver suite was great. People were the best we have ever encountered.
Cons: 14 nights in which you had to wear a jacket 11 nights. Ridiculous
Review: Was told there was no formal nights turned out there was 3 plus 8 nights they call informal which requires a jacket.
Pros: Butlers in every cabin, several small restaurants and included shore excursions
Cons: Restaurants opened between 7 - 8pm
Review:
Pros: Excellent destination. Friendly and helpful staff. Well appointed rooms. Well run tours.
Cons: Food inconsistent, difficulty with dining reservations, lack of food options
Review:
Pros: Excellent service. The food was exceptional. The entertainment was wonderful.
Cons: No Cons
Review:
Pros: Staff, public areas and the amenities in the Suites............and the food and drink!!!!
Cons: I did hear that when wanting to book future cruise that the Future cruise desk was not available and missed a few appointments. This was disappointing and quite a few people then heard about it!
Review: This was a wonderful experience for our first time on Silverseas. The MUSE is a beautiful ship and we never felt crowded or waited in one single line! The organization and helpfulness of the staff was 6 star! The suites were lovely and had all the amenities needed and more! Love having a big tub and a roomy shower. The closet was bigger than our closet at home, plenty of hangers and drawers for our things and I especially liked that we could tuck our suitcases out of the way for the week. The dining options were spectacular and it made it hard to decide where to eat. Loved Atlantide and the menu choices were great. Jhune (with an H) was so fun and we saw her every day. Also, Joseph, the bartender in Atlantide felt like a dear friend by the time we got off the ship. Breakfast in La Terrazza was a lovely buffet and lots of choices. We loved Indochin and went there a couple of times. Silver note was a favorite, as you are finishing dinner it becomes a cool little jazz club and the entertainers are great. We enjoyed Kaiseki for sushi during lunch time and they do not charge an additional fee for lunch! The Grill was great for light lunch and dinner, choices are good and you can't beat the view!!! Again, the staff are wonderful at all the venues and make you feel like you are special. I can't end this review of dining options without mentioning how good the Pizza is at Spaccanapoli!! I think they are always open so good Pizza choices anytime overlooking the pool!! The folks at the Reception desk could not have been more helpful and very welcoming. Emily and Rosita were just delightful. I heard them talking with other guests and they were so nice to everyone and great problem solvers! We noticed that from the staff to the other guests we met, everyone Loves Silverseas and if this was their first cruise, they would return and the repeat guests just keep coming back! We will definately "come" back, already have plans for next year! This was an awesome way to visit Alaska! Oh, did I not mention the Shore excursions? They were very cool and educational and fun and a good time was had by all!
Pros: Attentive staff, wonderful amenities, beverages and gratuities included
Cons: Excursions were great, but left very little time to explore ports
Review: The pre-cruise land tour to Denali was incredible!
Pros: Whale watching
Cons: limited space on desirable excursions
Review: Would definitely recommend the Seward to Vancouver trip. Ending in Juneau then Seward might be a bit disappointing. We did not see many mammals roaming freely in Alaska, which might be a function of the time of the year and what excursions were available. Would recommend researching the topic more thoroughly outside of the excursion descriptions on the website. Did see humpback whales in a group bubble feeding, orcas breaching, and many bald eagles. The suites were nice, but there may have been staffing issues on our cruise. Dinner meals often took a long time, and room service was hit or miss - some orders were not delivered at all.
Pros: Luxury and service
Cons: challenging to make dinner reservatiions
Review:
Pros: All-inclusive...and I mean all-inclusive
Cons: Weather...but that is Alaska
Review: Staff was outstanding. Included excursions were perfect. Food was superb. Very comfortable and very relaxing trip.
Pros: Excellent food, Interesting itinerary, Enjoyed shore excursions, Excellent service from all dining room officers Requests were always fulfilled.
Cons: Inconsistent service in the dining rooms. It seemed that there were many "trainees" who either were too new and not ready to do their job or training was insufficient.
Review: Difficult to hear some important announcements. We understand that there is a need to not interrupt at all hours of the day but when important announcements are not broadcast for the entire ship, information can be missed. We had to constantly open our suite door to hear announcements. Ship's clock was not working for most of the trip. Paying an extra $60/person for La Dame was ridiculous. Much of the same food could be found in the other dining rooms. Wait staff was hovering - they did not have enough to do to keep them busy as there were only 3 tables the night we were there - very annoying. Bar and wine service was always excellent in all areas. Attended several lectures. All speakers were excellent. Cabin service was inconsistent. All in all we enjoyed the trip, however, it is advertised as a "super luxury experience" but we felt that we have had similar or even better experiences on other cruise lines.
Pros: My butler needed additional training. My cabin steward was great but had a very heavy accent, so it was difficult for me to understand him.
Cons: The reception was sporadic, so checking your onboard account, restaurant information and emails were difficult.
Review: The staff was very welcoming and professional. The lecturer, Lt. Col. Rick Francona was exceptional. Several shore excursions were canceled due to the lack of staff to operate the tours plus the weather conditions.
Pros: Service and staff. Cabin accommodations and. food. Door to door experience.
Cons: Would like more daily activities and entertainment. Wifi internet spotty.
Review: So close to a 5 star review.
Pros: Everything was great. The staff exceeded all my expectations- kudos to the silversea muse staff.
Cons: Spotty internet.
Review: The internet was the only problem.
Pros: Great staff, suites, food, fantastic host Bob Anthony
Cons: Same menu t hruout the trip, difficulty in making dinner reservations, not enough to do during sea time, lectures, movies,,
Review: Overall a good time, fantastic host, made sure everything was taken of even when dinner reservations were a problem. The shuttle service at the port in Sydney needs to be improved, long waits. POrts like Eden, could be eliminated and add extra day on at Melbourne
Pros: Food, service, accommodations, destination lectures, special lectures, entertainment
Cons: Lack of onboard activities, menu variance
Review: Service, food, accommodations, all excellent. No main dining room but 8 different restaurants. Menu’s don’t change enough if one likes more Venus than others. Hard to make reservations for some and I think SS needs to find a way to make them accessible to all. Limited daytime activities on board for days at sea. They could improve on their offerings.
Pros: Ship size & itinerary
Cons: Shore excursions, fitness center size, equipment
Review: travel time from port into Bangkok with traffic was horrendous. Excursions were disappointing. Fitness center is small, limited # of machines with a few out of order.
Pros: The staff almost immediately knows the guests' names and preferences. The Guest Relations staff works hard to meed indiviual requests and needs. The suites are large and beautifully decorated.
Cons: The food is sometimes uneven, and many guests remarked that it was often not hot enough. The fee based restaurants seem over priced for what is offered.
Review:
Pros: The ship was perfect. Outstanding food, staff...impeccable
Cons: Excursions were a little long
Review: Could not improve anything regarding the ship itself. Great accommodations!
Pros: Size of the ship rooms were perfect
Cons: Need iron change menus more often
Review: We had a silver suite and the room and service was exempt. The entire staff was also very good. Loved the choices of restaurants but some needed to add or change the menu for longer trips. The excursions were generally overpriced.
Pros: Extremely nice staff, good food in all dining venues
Cons: Laundry room small.
Review: Very attractive ship in common areas and the suites. The shore excursions were good. People did wear "formal" (tuxedos or dark suits) and cocktail dresses for the formal nights. That enabled you to eat in the restaurant of your choice.
Pros: Lovely venues, open bars, helpful friendly staff, large comfortable suites with showers and tubs
Cons: The ship does bounce around a bit in rough weather, Management tries to be helpful but one gets the feeling that the real intent is to sell the guest something as an answer to a question. e.g. In answer to the question, "What wine is being served tonight (that is complementary?") the reply might be, "Oh let me show you the wine list (which is not complentary.) Or in answer to the question, "Can you check with the port agent for the names of some dentists in town?" You might get the reply, "Oh you must see the doctor on board first (and pay his fee) for HIM to make that recommendation." Sometimes the right hand does communicate well with the left. A shore exursion that was booked with a private vehicle for 6 passengers, showed up only able to accommodate 2. (After waiting an hour and a half for a new vehicle, it was given to the group for free, but as one guest commented to me, "even though it was free, you get what you pay for. The guide was awful"
Review:
Pros: All the pluses of Silver Seas, new ship is somewhat (not lots) better
Cons: Shore stops and land possibilities are NOT Good
Review: See above, would only do if you want to be through the Panama Canal, Which was worth it. RGE
Pros: Attractive, comfortable ship, good food and service.
Cons: Entertainment not up to par.
Review: They have several new dining venues, which is quite nice. However, if there is a function that ends at a set time, there is a made rush to wherever someone may not have a reservation, and it is quite uncomfortable. A solution should be found.... The Entertainment Troupe is good, but there is canned music, and the productions have no imagination or pizazz! The Celebrity guests were poor, except for one. That is not satisfactory on a 5+ Star ship!
Pros: Staff was excellent. Wines had improved. Cuisine was very good in La Terrazza. High level of service and finally contemporary background music all over the ship.
Cons: Food uneven in other venues. Shore excursions uneven as well. Transfers in Lisbon priced very high. Deck 5 bar is an immense space and never more than 15 people in it. Entertainment contunues to be unexciting and repetitive.
Review:
Pros: Size of Ship, quality of food, crew, ports, all inclusive, large cabins with balconies
Cons: Small ports requiring tenders, No main restaurant, Limited socialization with other passengers
Review: This is a ship designed for guests who totally want to cruise with the persons that are in their party. This ship has a great experienced knowledgeable crew, 8 different restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, and bars that are well stocked. Shore excursions are well thought out and fun.

Fares are per person, based on double occupancy and include government, port, document issuance, handling and service fees. Transfers and airfare (unless otherwise stated) are additional for all guests. All fares are quoted in US Dollars.
