Nice | Sunday, Jul 27, 2025 | Sunday, Jul 27, 2025 |
Nice is undoubtedly the place for the opening up of art and culture. The Côte d'Azur has inspired, from time immemorial, the greatest painters, writers and musicians. It has compelled recognition of its avant-garde across the Atlantic, its museums are holding prestigious collections in edifices of renowned architecture. Nice is full of an extraordinary artistic and cultural heritage. The gentle way of life sustains the imaginary world of artists and stimulates their creativeness. A cultural and aesthetic atmosphere prevails here; the cultural life is intense. It is punctuated by temporary exhibitions in the museums and the municipal galleries, by the programming of the theatres of which the most important is the Theatre of Nice - National Dramatic Centre - directed by Jacques Weber. The Opera House of Nice's Theatre proposes events of great quality.
Bastia | Monday, Jul 28, 2025 | Monday, Jul 28, 2025 |
Bastia’s industrial sprawl is offset by its aged charm. The presence of overwhelming Italian character adds to the city’s attraction. Two distinct areas comprise the city: Terra Vecchia, the old quarter with its haphazard streets and flamboyant Baroque churches, and the more orderly Terra Nova, representing the administrative core of old Bastia. The city’s origin can be traced to a settlement established by the Romans just south of Bastia. The Genoese put this port on the map as the island’s capital for four centuries and a base from where local wine was shipped to the Italian mainland. They built a fortress, or bastiglia, from which the town took its name. The Genoese laid the foundation for the area’s prosperity, which it has managed to retain.
St. Tropez | Tuesday, Jul 29, 2025 | Tuesday, Jul 29, 2025 |
Glitz and glamour are the two key-words to St. Tropez’s reputation. Set like a jewel in the crown of the Mediterranean, St. Tropez has long been a mecca to artists and the summer vacationers alike, who are drawn to the picturesque setting and the old-world charm of the town’s architecture. In the 1920s, St. Tropez became a fashion headquarters and an international playground, an association that has hardly been dispelled with time.
Sete | Wednesday, Jul 30, 2025 | Wednesday, Jul 30, 2025 |
Situated at the Golf du Lion in South France, Sète has been an important port for three hundred years and today is the country’s second busiest port after Marseilles. Upper town straddles the slopes of Mont St. Clair, which overlooks the vast Bassin de Thau, a breeding ground of mussels and oysters. Lower town is intersected by waterways lined with tall terraces and seafood restaurants. Surrounding hills offer great hiking opportunities, and other interesting destinations include the university city of Montpellier and Agde. In Sète, pedestrian streets allow visitors leisurely strolling, and scattered café tables invite visitors to relax, sip an apéritif and people-watch. The sailor’s cemetery located on Mont St. Chair overlooks the harbor. The poet Paul Valéry, a native of Sète, is buried in the cemetery and the town honors him with the Musée Valéry, located across from the cemetery. The museum features a collection of modern French paintings and a room dedicated to singer and songwriter Georges Brassens, born and raised in Sète.

Alicante | Friday, Aug 01, 2025 | Friday, Aug 01, 2025 |
Alicante is located on Spain’s Costa Blanca in the Levant Region, along the country’s southeastern coast and is a tourist resort and commercial port. The region is marked by lush mountain ranges. During the Gothic era of the fifteenth through sixteenth centuries centuries, art and architecture flourished in Alicante and the remainder of the Levant Region. Immense palaces and grandiose churches were built with elaborate baroque details. Visitors can see a third century BC fortress - the citadel of Santa Bárbara built by ruler Amilcar Barca, a Carthaginian, Arrabal Roig - the old quarter, the Baroque town hall (1701-60), the Church of Santa MarÃa (14th century), and the Renaissance church of San Nicolás de Bari (18th century).
Palma de Mallorca | Saturday, Aug 02, 2025 | Saturday, Aug 02, 2025 |
The Balearics are comprised of 16 islands; the three principal ones are Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca. Lying just 60 miles off the Spanish mainland, the islands’ lush and rugged landscape combined with an extremely mild, sunny climate prove irresistible. The Balearics boast cosmopolitan resorts with lively nightlife and plenty of sports activities. Palma de Majorca is the capital of the archipelago. A cosmopolitan city with sophisticated shops and restaurants, it also offers buildings of spectacular Moorish and gothic architecture. Museo de Mallorca housed in the Palacio Ayamans boasts an interesting collection of Moorish, medieval and 18th- to 19th-century art. Those who wish to explore the northern end of the island will enjoy the dramatic land and seascape of Cabo Formentor at the end of a long, narrow peninsula. A winding road with magnificent views leads to the luxury Hotel Formentor, beautifully situated above the bay. The lighthouse of Cabo Formentor is the most northerly point on Majorca.

Mahon | Monday, Aug 04, 2025 | Monday, Aug 04, 2025 |
Mahon is a town known since antiquity for its natural harbor. Its coastline includes beautiful natural coves, rocky cliffs, and long beaches. Menorca is an open-air museum with archaeological remains giving evidence of Mediterranean cultures of thousands of years ago. Traces of English rule remain, especially in the design of tall houses with sash windows overlooking the harbor. Watersports are most popular of the wide range of leisure activities available. Sail boat rentals are available at numerous beaches and a golf course is located in Son Park. Menorca was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1993 - an acknowledgement of the island's environmental importance and artistic and cultural heritage. Santa Maria Church, located in Plaza de la Constitucion, was founded in 1287 and rebuilt in neo-classical style in the 18th century. Its 19th-century organ is one of the world’s largest, with 3,004 pipes. Sa Mesquida and Cala del Pilar are the two best beaches.
Palamos | Tuesday, Aug 05, 2025 | Tuesday, Aug 05, 2025 |
Costa Brava means wild coast. Though the scenery is strikingly dramatic, below the rugged headlands and rocky promontories you'll find quiet, beach bordered bays rimmed by piney woodlands. Palamos is the southernmost of a series of small isolated ports that cling like oysters to tiny harbors set along Catalunya's northern coast. The "old" part of Palamos was founded in 1277. Palamos is a favorite destination for yachts that vie for space with local fishing boats.
Barcelona | Wednesday, Aug 06, 2025 | Wednesday, Aug 06, 2025 |
Barcelona, the self-confident and progressive capital of Spain, is a tremendous place to be. Though it boasts outstanding Gothic and Art Nouveau buildings, and some great museums – most notably those dedicated to Picasso and Catalan art – it is above all a place where there's enjoyment simply in walking the streets, stopping in at bars and cafés, drinking in the atmosphere. A thriving port and the most prosperous commercial centre in Spain, it has a sophistication and cultural dynamism way ahead of the rest of the country. In part this reflects the city's proximity to France, whose influence is apparent in the elegant boulevards and imaginative cooking. But Barcelona has also evolved an individual and eclectic cultural identity, most perfectly and eccentrically expressed in the architecture of Antoni GaudÃ. Scattered as Barcelona's main sights may be, the greatest concentration of interest is around the old town (La Ciutat Vella). These cramped streets above the harbor are easily manageable, and far more enjoyable, on foot. Start, as everyone else does, with the Ramblas. |

Submit Your Own Review!Suites, Food, Tours, Service, SALT concept
Pros: Suites, Food, Tours, Service, SALT concept
Cons: All dining at night is sit down, would be nice to have less casual grab and go option. It takes a moment to understand the symmetrical layout of cabins, it can be easy to get turned around.
Review: Silversea has really hit a home run with the Ray, it is an impressive and well thought out ship. The size, layout and amenities in the Suites is truly impressive....the bathrooms in particular are so large with drawers to put things in, a large mirror and vanity and great showers. The bedding was comfortable and the lounge area and desk/mini bar plus the balcony was all very spacious and comfortable. The variety of dining was perfect....some required or allowed pre booking, while others you just walked up to, it all worked well overall and we had not issues going to all the restaurants we wanted to. The SALT kitchen and special Chefs dinner at SALT were a must do, the cost is well worth it and it was one of the most memorable parts of our cruise. The SALT concept on the tours was also a highlight, those options really stood out and were again worth the added cost. The open spaces on deck, chairs and lounging areas plus the pool and one outdoor jacuzzi were also very nice...plenty of room and very comfortable. It is always the staff onboard that can make or break a trip and for Silversea they really know how to deliver it all....smiles from all the waiters and the entire staff made us all feel appreciated and valued. The feel of this ship is elegant but not stuffy, the decor is classy but not too much bling...loved it and cant wait to get back onboard!
Appearance, food, cabins, crew, open space, entertainment
Pros: Appearance, food, cabins, crew, open space, entertainment
Cons: Lack of reservations for speacialty dining areas. No evening casual dining, such as buffet. The Deck Plan should be more easily accessible on the app. Better signage throughout the ship and in each suite of the Deck Plan would also be helpful. There are too many tables in buffet restaurant, making it very difficult to walk between them when the restaurant is full.
Review: The new Silver Ray is beautiful beyond words. Food great. Cabins wonderful. Some negatives below.
Beautiful and well designed ship with outstanding service, food, lounges and musicians. Wide variety of restaurants and foods with S.A.L.T. serving foods and wines from the very regions you are visiting. Menu changes nearly every day so you could go just to that one restaurant and have multiple new options on a daily basis. The Silver Note is a very small ( capacity 45) venue that has small plates, great cocktails and a nightly jazz combo or cabaret singer. The cabins are well appointed each with a butler that will set up reservations for dining, take care of your laundry and set up meals in your suite. The art, interior decorating and layout is the best of any ship we have ever been on. The crew is also the best in the world.

Cons: Only issue is reservations in the Silver Note can be very difficult due to the small and intimate nature of the room. So book early.
Review: I would travel on this ship every single time we cruise if possible.
The staff, service and design of the ship. The food is very good with many different restaurants to choose from.
Pros: The staff, service and design of the ship. The food is very good with many different restaurants to choose from.
Cons: The Marquee restaurant is an open-air venue that was very hot during August in the Adriatic

Staff, shore excursions, food, cabin quality
Pros: Staff, shore excursions, food, cabin quality
Cons: Some newer crew that need more experience, late 10pm entertainment start times
Review:
Beautiful suites and public spaces with an amazing staff!
Pros: Beautiful suites and public spaces with an amazing staff!
Cons: Extra charge for specialty restaurants may not be well valued for the price
Review: For me, 99% of a good cruise is the staff, and the Siver Ray gets 5 stars! Ship is beautiful everywhere, so 5 stars! Food was excellent most of the time, and when they missed the mark for my personal taste, they changed it! So back to 5 stars! We loved Ester, the singer in Silver Note, so we were there every night, so can't comment on the other entertainment. I peeked at the pool a few times and it was not my scene, but this is a very personal opinion. I have a pool at home and I like a neat and tidy pool area, which is probably not possible on most cruises! This is more of a passenger issue but if Silversea is listening...extra attendants at the pool that act like waiters that straighten up after each napkin (or towel by the pool) is used at every lounge chair would be nice...but that might be asking too much!
every feature was first-rate
Pros: every feature was first-rate
Cons: none
Review: Santorini has become too crowded to be a worthwhile stop. Felt like I was on a sidewalk in Manhattan at rush hour - all day
