Belize City | Wednesday, Jan 01, 2025 | Wednesday, Jan 01, 2025 |
Belize City is the largest city in Belize. It offers the visitor an unusual combination of rustic, old-fashioned Caribbean charm and bustling modernity. The Belize River meanders through the middle of the city; and twice a day, the city's swing bridge closes to allow sail boats to pass. There are many traditional street vendors selling fruits, vegetables, arts and crafts in the city's public squares, especially in the colonial marketplace on Saturday mornings. Visitors can purchase handmade wood furniture made by the Mennonite community and many kinds of craft items from the National Handicraft center, as well as from vendors who congregate near the Belize Commercial Center. Belize City is an excellent starting off point for visitors wishing to explore the country by car (or 4-wheel drive). There are several major tourist attractions an hour's drive or less from Belize City, such as the Belize Zoo, Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, the Bermudian Landing Community Baboon Sanctuary, and the Mayan ruin site at Altun Ha.
Roatan Island | Thursday, Jan 02, 2025 | Thursday, Jan 02, 2025 |
Lush Roatan is the largest of the Bay Islands that lie some 30 miles off the Caribbean coast of Honduras. Roatan is 40 miles long and 4 miles wide and offers a friendly and laid-back setting. Here you can enjoy the superb Tabyana beach at West Bay, the beautiful Half Moon Bay, 'Dolphin Encounters' at Anthony's Key Resort and snorkelling and diving amid the Western Hemisphere's most spectacular underwater reefs. The underwater environment is rich and extensive; reefs surround the islands, often within swimming distance of the shore. Caves and caverns are a common feature, with a wide variety of sponge and the best collection of pillar coral in the Caribbean. Several parts have been proposed as marine reserves.

Grand Cayman (George Town) | Saturday, Jan 04, 2025 | Saturday, Jan 04, 2025 |
Grand Cayman attracts most Cayman tourists, most of whom flock to Seven Mile Beach. Divers see abundant marine life. Gentle stingrays cluster at Stingray City. Rum Point serves up cinnamony rum punch. Spend an entire day floating in clear azure waters. At dawn, head out on a dive boat or tan on decadent Seven Mile Beach. Check out underwater sights without getting wet on a 100-foot descent on Atlantis Submarine or an 800-foot descent in a two-person sub to a shipwreck. Head to Hell, with its velour-clad devil, before zipping over to Turtle Farm. Grand Cayman's sparsely populated East End is refreshing with long streches of rocky coast. The oldest island structure is a castle rumored to have been built by pirates two centuries ago in Savannah. Blowholes offer awesome spots for picture of watery spires. Harborside George Town has tempting shops. Among popular nightlife spots are Ramada's Treasure Island and Island Rock. Hopping pubs include Lone Star Bar & Grill or My Bar on the shores of Sunset House.

Submit Your Own Review!Comfortable quarters, good itinerary, shuttles at most stops (really appreciated), some excellent entertainers, enjoyed the specialty dining options,
Pros: Comfortable quarters, good itinerary, shuttles at most stops (really appreciated), some excellent entertainers, enjoyed the specialty dining options,
Cons: wished there were more spicy dish options, we chose several bottles of wine that were no longer available
Review: Gratuity should either be included on everything (including beverages) or not included on everything assuming the concept is service. There were 2 times the somalier did not know much about the wines and the service was extremely slow, we would not have tipped 20% - thus counter intuitive. We really appreciated the shuttle service to town - understand not possible for all ports - Destination information could be more expanded, maybe add a video or two about the destination on the portal section - Enjoyed the catalog of movies and shows by category- very helpful. In general throughout the Marina service and teams were helpful although we found the main dining room service to be slower than we experienced in the past.
Ship, housekeeping, dining staff, destinations, included tours & specialty dining
Pros: Ship, housekeeping, dining staff, destinations, included tours & specialty dining
Cons: Account management, lack of urgency responding to engineering problem
Review: Overall enjoyable trip. Staff and fellow travelers were friendly and outgoing. Food was mostly good to great with the exception of the quality of beef in Polo Grill (beef was surprisingly much better in Jacques and Main Dining). Tour guides were good and informative. We had problems with the accuracy of our account twice. Tried unsuccessfully to resolve with Guest Services over two days, so emailed our travel agent, who contacted the home office and resolved in minutes. On another occasion, our cabin and all the cabins in our corridor (starboard side aft) suddenly filled with a noxious odor; and despite numerous calls from our neighbors, we got no response to the problem. I went to Guest Services in person, after a half hour of no response, and the representative had passed the problem to engineering and was unwilling to follow-up. We suspected the engine exhaust was being drawn into the air conditioning system, but never got any explanation. About two hours after seeing some engineering staff looking around in our corridor, the smell dissipated, so we assumed it was safe to return and sleep in our cabin. A voice mail confirming that assumption would have been nice.
1. Room stewards for both cruises were excellent - great service & very accommodating. 2. Used the spa service and everyone was friendly and helpful. 3. Took advantage of the Art Drawing Classes, great teacher, learned a lot. 4. Handled the tours getting off the ship with great ease, though sometimes late leaving. 5. Specialty dining was great.

Took advantage of the Art Drawing Classes, great teacher, learned a lot. 4. Handled the tours getting off the ship with great ease, though sometimes late leaving. 5. Specialty dining was great.
Cons: 1. Waite staff on our 1st cruise was much to be desired, very slow and not very efficient. Were told a lot of new hires on ship. The 2nd cruise a little better but waited 15 minutes sometimes for our dishes to be removed. 2. Excursions were much to be desired. We want on one in each port except for one and everyone of them were very rushed by the guide. They kept on telling us they were on a schedule and no matter whether we told them to slow down, they had a schedule and kept on rushing. Hardly had time to take pictures or sometimes had a hard time hearing the guide unless you were right next to her. One tour we could not catch up with our guide to tell her we were leaving the group. Did not look to see if we were all there, just kept going. We had to take the shuttle bus back to the ship. Another time we left the group and told our guide that we were leaving. Went we got back on ship, went to Destination Desk and reported it and all that was said, we will let them know. 3. Don't get sick on ship, nurse at medical center very rude.
Review: We are not first time cruisers. We were recommended that we try Oceania and that they were top of the notch. We liked their itineraries and thought we would give them a try. The most that we were disappointed in was the excursions and how they were so rushed. We like to take photos and we do a lot of research before we travel to places and were not happy. Most the the people traveling on the two cruises we just took were over 60 and they should be a little more understanding that we do not move that fast.
Excellent staff, clean ship, clean 3rd party buses, tour guides informative, ports were clean and neat.
Pros: Excellent staff, clean ship, clean 3rd party buses, tour guides informative, ports were clean and neat.
Cons: No Cons
Review: May want to add videos (that are available on ship TV) of excursions to the Oceania website for preview in advance of the cruise. They help supplement the written descriptions .
Smaller ship, very friendly staff and great food selection.
Pros: Smaller ship, very friendly staff and great food selection.
Cons: Don’t port in on a Sunday without booking a tour not much to do
Review: Marina is a beautiful ship with great paintings and sculptures throughout the ship. The speciality restaurants are wonderful with great food and lots of personal touches. The BEST Sea Bass in Red Ginger… Be prepared to do a lot of walking in some ports because of the distance between ports and city centers. We did more walking around than expected! Let’s say like Malta there is nothing to do so do book a tour at this location…I wish I would have known that or that arriving in France on a Sunday most everything is closed.. Had a wonderful room steward that made our trip so much more enjoyable.. However I would not travel with Oceania again way to expensive..

Friendly staff. Enjoyed two speakers friendly low key bridge instructor.
Pros: Friendly staff. Enjoyed two speakers friendly low key bridge instructor.
Cons: high winds reduced access to upper outer decks on several days. Would have liked an organized croquet game.
Review: All that time a sea seemed to disappear with the activities. Never finished a book, Library is extensive. Tho windy, seas were not bad. Ship avoided a storm at Bermuda by skipping port.
Variety of activities, great food, great service
Pros: Variety of activities, great food, great service
Cons: WiFi connection is awful
Review: The cruise director loved to hear himself talk. The assistant cruise director was a bit over the top. Loved the days at sea where you could do as much or as little as you wanted.
Everything was great. It was so relaxing and well organized with wonderful food. Only half full the first part and 2/3 the second. Service was great.
Pros: Everything was great. It was so relaxing and well organized with wonderful food. Only half full the first part and 2/3 the second. Service was great.
Cons: The tours are pricey and a couple did not really meet our expectations. Others were very good. Lost money gambling??
Review: We had a wonderful time.
Everything about this cruise was 5 star. The staff is attentive, kind and always happy! The ship is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is top notch. The restaurants all have the most amazing menu's. The Spa was another treat.
Pros: Everything about this cruise was 5 star. The staff is attentive, kind and always happy! The ship is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is top notch. The restaurants all have the most amazing menu's. The Spa was another treat.
Cons: I can't think of anything that they could perfect. As much glass is on the ship, there was never a finger print to be found!
Review: I felt taken care of, every moment. The restaurant staff made fabulous suggestions, the excursions were well executed. The announcements were enough to keep you informed, but not intrusive. The shows were fantastic. I tried foods I'd never imagined trying and was never disappointed. The gym had great equipment and luxurious treatments. I can't wait to book my next trip with Oceania.
Food is good. Training and friendliness of staff is impeccable. Entertainment is first-rate.
Pros: Food is good. Training and friendliness of staff is impeccable. Entertainment is first-rate.
Cons: None
Review: The care and concern of every crew and staff member was evident throughout this voyage under very trying conditions with covid protocols. However, passengers felt very safe because everyone was vaccinated and tested negative repeatedly. Clients are treated as special guests and friends rather than cash cows. Waiters knew our names and faces even with masks and what we liked to eat. All officers and crew treated us warmly and respectfully. The cast and the entertainers were extremely talented and enthusiastic, eliciting cheers from the audience. Food and service was outstanding.
Everything
Pros: Everything
Cons: None
Review: The Oceania Cruises Covid protocols we very smart, and did not in any way detract from the cruise being enjoyable in all respects!
Beautiful ship, outstanding food, extensive health and safety protocols, extremely warm and friendly staff- excited to be cruising again, every port had something interesting to offer, and interesting enhancement programs.
Pros: Beautiful ship, outstanding food, extensive health and safety protocols, extremely warm and friendly staff- excited to be cruising again, every port had something interesting to offer, and interesting enhancement programs.
Cons: Spotty internet - Only one person at a time in the cabin can use it.
Review: We felt totally safe regarding our health, and the overall experience was just as we remembered it used to be before Covid. Joanie loved the art program. Ed, the piano man, was especially entertaining at the piano bar.
Cleanest ship ever been on, Delicious food, wonderful room staff, great pool and hot tubs.
Pros: Cleanest ship ever been on, Delicious food, wonderful room staff, great pool and hot tubs.
Cons: No 24/7 restaurants open
Review: We had such a great time! Played ping pong, mini golf, and shuffleboard a lot! Great variety of restaurants without “extra charge”. Loved that there were no “formal” nights, just “country club” attire. Nice.
1200 passenger capacity is perfect for access to crew, amenities, and shipboard resources like laundry and concierge services. This was a hard working crew, and we had enjoyable interaction, response, and food.
Pros: 1200 passenger capacity is perfect for access to crew, amenities, and shipboard resources like laundry and concierge services. This was a hard working crew, and we had enjoyable interaction, response, and food.
Cons: No nit-picking here, but I would suggest some method of alerting passengers to key late night-time sites that couldn't be seen during the day while cruising between ports (eg., sailing through Strait of Gibraltar in evening with Arabic script lighting, city and harbor lighting of Monte Carlo-gorgeous).
Review:
Great size ship. Food was excellent and the staff was outstanding. Best cruise ship that we have been on.
Pros: Great size ship. Food was excellent and the staff was outstanding. Best cruise ship that we have been on.
Cons: None!
Review: We recently did a Baltic cruise on the Oceania Marina and the overall feeling we had was that it was outstanding. We will do another Oceania cruise in 2021. The size of the ship was perfect. We kept saying how great the food was and how customer focused the ship staff was.
All crew were personable and professional. The ship was clean and well maintained. Everything ran smoothly and timely. The entertainment was enjoyable. The food service, presentation and taste were amazing.
Pros: All crew were personable and professional. The ship was clean and well maintained. Everything ran smoothly and timely. The entertainment was enjoyable. The food service, presentation and taste were amazing.
Cons: No problems or concerns.
Review: Last year we experienced problems on Oceania's Regatta, so we were hesitant to sail with them again. However, since we'd enjoyed prior cruises with Oceania, we decided to give them one more chance. We're glad we did. Our Baltic Sea cruise on Marina provided smooth sailing in every respect.
Smaller ship, great crew, great food, specialty dining included (don’t skip Red Ginger!)
Pros: Smaller ship, great crew, great food, specialty dining included (don’t skip Red Ginger!)
Cons: Other than room service, no food available at cocktail hour
Review: Oceania tends to stop at more ports than other cruises. The smaller ports were nice recovery ports!
Wonderful amenities, just the right size ship.
Pros: Wonderful amenities, just the right size ship.
Cons: Internet was poor
Review: This cruise was everything I could have asked for. We even had great weather and calm seas.
Service and Food
Pros: Service and Food
Cons: Entertainment
Review: Ship is being maintained very well. Service is extraordinary and the food is wonderful. The best ice cream at sea.
Food, Service, Itinerary
Pros: Food, Service, Itinerary
Cons: None
Review: This was truly an adventure. Because of a huge storm, we had extra days at sea and woke up one day to find the decks covered with snow! Some of the crew made creative snowmen. Despite the weather, being on Marina is always an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. Best cuisine at sea and incomparable service.
Service, food, quality of ship
Pros: Service, food, quality of ship
Cons: Lack of music at pool, overpriced excursions
Review: Seventh voyage for us on Marina (or Riviera). Ship is still in great shape and its upkeep is noticeable. Food quality and service is superb. Excursions are still grossly overpriced and for some reason, poolside music, etc. is missing. Seems to me that on this voyage (12 nights in South Pacific) that we would have had more entertainment around pool given the heat and the attendance in the afternoon. All in all, an A+ rating.
Perfectly Organized and Executed
Pros: Perfectly Organized and Executed

Review: Just Fabulous

Pros: Perfect sized, great ports of call, excellent food
Cons: Not too many
Review: Perfect sized, great ports of call, excellent food
food, service, library, ports
Pros: food, service, library, ports
Cons: zealous housekeeping staff
Review: This was our second cruise - and it was so much better. Oceania treats their guests very well. Terrace Café food was always fresh and often local. Waves extended hours allowed us to eat when we were hungry. Polo Grill food and service were excellent. Staff very personable, they appear to enjoy their roles. Most of the staff had been with the company for several years. Plenty of space to sit, read, or doze in library. Wide variety of reading material. Ports of call were well selected. We chose this cruise because it offered 2 days in St. Petersburg. Every port offered something unique. Housekeeping persisted in cleaning the room 3 times per day - even calling us when the "Privacy Please" card was posted outside the door for more than a few hours. Sometimes we just wanted to relax in the stateroom.
Overall a good cruise; Hardworking staff; decent food and entertainment. Excellent cooking class on cooking fish. Dining staff was very accommodating always.
Pros: Overall a good cruise; Hardworking staff; decent food and entertainment. Excellent cooking class on cooking fish. Dining staff was very accommodating always.
Cons: no money changing service on board; slow internet;only one person at a time can be on internet from each cabin; dropped internet; charge for laundry use; not well organized for excursion launches
Review: 1. they only wi-fi'd to a single satellite so capacity is limited to one cabin occupant at a time, etc. very inconvenient 2. they said they had exhausted all euros from last cruise. but they never replaced them or made norwegian or danish krone available; even a limited amount so people could get into town or dine in town would have been helpful. we came prepared, but service is the name of the game. 3.ship is a cash free environment; laundry should be built into the price. shouldn't have coin machines. 4. probably 90% of people taking excursions had one on one conversations to clarify how the boarding process worked thereby slowing down the procedure. they should just publish the steps in the bulletin or put signage up in marina lounge; or project it on a screen to avoid the delays. Amsterdam was skipped due to sea conditions. Bremerhavn was substituted. Kristiansand and Gothenberg are weak ports for sightseeing; the others are strong; They should bring back Hagen-Daz ice cream. They used to feature it. The Baristas are located 14th floor forward. They should be down on deck five or six. They should have a wide variety of pastries and sandwiches as other ships do. Unimpressed with the Barista section. Canyon Spa services were excellent. Their billing was not so good. They overcharged for one procedure. Then on another day they mistakenly included a manicure in the billing for a pedicure only. Once I can understand. Twice; something is going on. Kim,The Spa, Manager was very helpful, checked the records carefully, and made the proper adjustments. Still an inconvenience.
itinerary, accommodations
Pros: itinerary, accommodations
Cons: none
Review: Excellent way to access remote destinations. Excellent accommodations and support for excursions. Did not utilize many entertainment or shipboard activities as more interested in sights.
Our trip joined siblings from three states for a fabulous 8 day sailing. Our agents were able to put us all on the same deck and dining rooms reservations from two different offices.
Pros: Our trip joined siblings from three states for a fabulous 8 day sailing. Our agents were able to put us all on the same deck and dining rooms reservations from two different offices.
Cons: Loved every stop on the trip except Casablanca. None of use as well as several other guests wanted to visit this city after viewing it from the bus ride from Oceania to the place we were to be let off. It was so unappealing that we stayed on the bus and returned to the ship.
Review:
All the employees on the ship extremely helpful. Food was good.
Pros: All the employees on the ship extremely helpful. Food was good.
Cons: Staterooms and bathroom shower really small.
Review: Marina doesn't have loads of suites so they have to be reserved over a year in advance, which isn't always possible. The destination desk on the ship only has employees at the desk certain hours which can be really annoying if you need to take care of something. Entertainment was better than expected. Needed to see ship doctor for something minor and the charge for that was way out of line, much too high.
Great food, terrific staterooms, tip top service from all the staff from toot bottom. interesting tours and destinations, good nighttime entertainment, good pool deck
Pros: Great food, terrific staterooms, tip top service from all the staff from toot bottom. interesting tours and destinations, good nighttime entertainment, good pool deck
Cons: none that I can think of
Review: We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this trip and would not hesitate to recommend it. We loved the culinary oriented tours as they showed a side of the towns that you would never see otherwise. This is a great diversion if you are tired of seeing castles and churches. The chef on our boat was great!!!! We loved seeing the countries formerly under Soviet control. Their stories are palpable, and they value their independence like you cannot believe.
Excellent service and efficient staff
Pros: Excellent service and efficient staff
Cons: change in confirmation times for shore excursions
Review: We were traveling with a group of 8, and one couple had a change in time for one of their shore excursions. There was no advance notice (email) BEFORE the trip for this change and while we are asked to check the times after arriving on the ship, I believe this change should be brought to their attention in advance or as soon as possible. By the time they noticed the change in time, it was too late and they lost out on their excursion. On the positive side, the food was great and staff, friendly and helpful. Our staterooms were spacious and was impressed with the efficiency of the bathrooms. I would recommend Oceania's Marina to anyone who likes the smaller size ship for its atmosphere and personal service.
Nice Size Ship, excellent dining choices, good entertainment
Pros: Nice Size Ship, excellent dining choices, good entertainment
Cons: Seemed a little out of synch with the service. Ship had undergone a major overhaul recently and crew may still be getting the teamwork down. Felt service not up to previous standards.
Review: Itinerary was a mixed bag with wonderful start in Lisbon and Porto as well as Bordeaux, Bilbao and St. Melo.. Ferrol and Brest were somewhat lacking in interest.
PH is up to expectation and high quality
Pros: PH is up to expectation and high quality
Cons: Butler service marginal and disappointing

Review: This was our fourth cruise on Oceania Marina. We always enjoy this ship. After cruise ended May 28, Marina will be in dry dock for refurbishing. The ship is just over five years old and not nearly as warn as other cruise ship we have experienced. We look forward to sailing again on Marina September 3, 2016 and look forward to enjoying the updated interiors. On our recent cruise we booked a penthouse suite and enjoyed excellent cabin/butler service.
Itinerary, staff professionalism, better than average food, beautiful ship, lovely stateroom
Pros: Itinerary, staff professionalism, better than average food, beautiful ship, lovely stateroom
Cons: music and entertainment
Review: The band musicians on board were talented, but played for 30-45 minutes and left. Piano player in Martinis Bar very boring (think "elevator music"). Shows in the showroom were "hit and miss". Onboard dancers and singers were poor. Entertainment was the only disappointment, but it was kind of a big deal for me.
Beautiful area of the world
Pros: Beautiful area of the world
Cons: Hot & Humid!!
Review: The islands of French Polynesia are beautiful, lush and green. The color of the South Pacific is indescribable. The different hues of blue seem unreal. Everything looks like a painting. The French Polynesian people were friendly and easy going. The only downside was the heat and humidity. Of course being summer in the Southern Hemisphere and being near the equator explains the climate. The ship experience was excellent.
Fabulous luxurious cruise for all ages 16 - 61
Pros: Fabulous luxurious cruise for all ages 16 - 61
Cons: Poor internet
Review:
Beautiful new ship, very good food
Pros: Beautiful new ship, very good food
Cons: Excursions were not very good.
Review: We would definitely use Oceania again, but we would book our own tours thru the internet. We used Viator in Barcelona and found it very enjoyable at a reasonable price. Many passengers on the ship booked their tours online. I think this may be a new trend. The 4 specialty restaurants were wonderful.
Great ports and great food.
Pros: Great ports and great food.
Cons: Over too soon.
Review: This was a GREAT cruise. The ports were terrific. The staff was very friendly. I could get spoiled.
Amenities, crew and staff, condition of room and ship in general. ports of call, ease of transfers all excellent
Pros: Amenities, crew and staff, condition of room and ship in general. ports of call, ease of transfers all excellent
Cons: Meat in specialty restaurants
Review: Most food was excellent. The meat/main courses in almost all restaurants (except for Terrace Cafe ) although cooked as requested was dry and tough as though it had been cooked hours before and left standing--no juices at all--- except for the meat cooked on the grill right in front of you at Terrace Cafe and Kobe burger, ahi steak cooked on the spot at Waves...killer! Side dishes and appetizers were of very good quality.
Exellent food, great service, comfortable bed and linen.
Pros: Exellent food, great service, comfortable bed and linen.
Cons: Carpet needed steam cleaning, bed sham was stained and needed replacing.
Review: Destinations that surprised us with their beauty and hospitality were Argostoli, Greece; Kotor, Montenegro; and the town of Piran, near Koper, Slovenia.
Overall ship was wonderful, service outstanding, and food & drink was amazing
Pros: Overall ship was wonderful, service outstanding, and food & drink was amazing
Cons: None
Review: The Oceania Marina cruise was wonderful. I have been on 7 prior cruises and by far Oceania exceeded my cruise expectations and was the "best cruise ever". Thank you to Oceania!!
efficient, good choice of specialty restaurants, cooking classes, etc.
Pros: efficient, good choice of specialty restaurants, cooking classes, etc.
Cons: check in in Amsterdam was a mess. They were training all new people and did not have enough people to assist them. Gal we had looked frightened and we were concerned she was not doing the right things for us.
Review: In future, Oceania should consider training less people at a time. All check in personnel were in experienced. Should have had experienced person at their side watching til they felt they were okay with process. Consequently, check in process was quite slow.
Excellent service, cuisine 4-5 * calibre, great shows and adequate suite staerooms
Pros: Excellent service, cuisine 4-5 * calibre, great shows and adequate suite staerooms
Cons: Cruise itinerary OK and shore excursions not good
Review: Would not recommend this itinerary due to the low quality of the shore excursions and high prices. Would highly recommend the Marina ship.
The food, service, accommodations, and ports were outstanding. That is why we have been on our last five cruises with Oceania.
Pros: The food, service, accommodations, and ports were outstanding. That is why we have been on our last five cruises with Oceania.
Cons: The only suggestion to the ship would be upgrade their regular coffee, because their Barista cafe is great.
Review: After taking 13 tours in our 11 ports of call, we only had one tour guide that was not terrific. It was with one of the ships excursions. The tours we took with Shore Trips were great. We were introducing two couples to Oceania and they were very pleased with the overall experience. I can not wait until our next cruise with Oceania.
Great food, service, itinerary, and ship.
Pros: Great food, service, itinerary, and ship.
Cons: Airline service package pretty bad.
Review: The title is true as we had the Best weather possible. The stops were wonderful but then much too short, the only drawback. Easy trip in that everywhere we monolinguistic travellers went everyone spoke English and not only was the Euro accepted but also USD, even in Russia. Friendly people everywhere we went. Ship's procedures were extremely efficient. We would not use their air program again as they did not allot enough time between flights for our luggage to arrive with us. It took two and a half days to find and deliver. Also I asked our agent if we could upgrade and we were told no although at the airport it was no problem and inexpensive. ???
Cabin,food,staff excellent.
Pros: Cabin,food,staff excellent.
Cons: Very sedate, older crowd, mostly in bed early. No nightlife. Casino and two shops we rated a D. Shore excursions way over priced for the islands they were in.
Review: We liked the smaller ship as getting on and off was easier. The passenger makeup on this cruise was not the usual happy crowd and we like more to do in the evenings so would not choose Oceana again.
Pros: No Pros
Cons: No Cons
Review: The staff and level of service were suberb. And once again the quality and presentation of the food was fantastic. Having two additional specialtiy restuarants was a nice addition. It was our first time on the larger Oceania ship and we did not feel like there were more people on the boat. We liked having the larger stateroom too. Privee is a fun addition as well.
Pros: No Pros
Cons: No Cons
Review: Beautiful ship, outstanding services and food. Just need FREE wifi and it would be perfect.
Beautiful ship GREAT suite (Vista Suite 10000)
Pros: Beautiful ship GREAT suite (Vista Suite 10000)
Cons: Bad weather and sickness - obvious neither are controllable by anyone.
Review: Very remote part of the world. Weather distracted from the cruise but we were told that that was unusual.
Five Star Cruiseline!!!
Pros: Five Star Cruiseline!!!
Cons: Flights to get there - wish we could select the airline carrier of our choosing
Review: Had an amazing time, start to finish!
Specialty Restaurants, excellent Terrace cafeteria-style available for all meals, experienced, friendly and English-speaking staff, large well-priced cabins, flexible credit for independent air travel, excellent early booking credits, great choice of itinerary.
Pros: Specialty Restaurants, excellent Terrace cafeteria-style available for all meals, experienced, friendly and English-speaking staff, large well-priced cabins, flexible credit for independent air travel, excellent early booking credits, great choice of itinerary.
Cons: Wine list could be better, grand dining room service not as good as specialty restaurants
Review: Not my fanciest cruise, but one of the best.
Food and Service
Pros: Food and Service
Cons: Nightly entertainment left something to be desired.
Review: The Food was very special and the service in the restaurants and in the stateroom was excellent. The entire Oceania cruise was special and I would use them again without hesitation.
Food, Service, Accommodations were 5 Star
Pros: Food, Service, Accommodations were 5 Star
Cons: You should not have to pay for internet. Add it into the total price would be better.
Review: My only complaints are there really is no free air fair. Internet should be included in price. Overall, everything was excellent
The food, the service,
Pros: The food, the service,
Cons: The closet in my cabin!!
Review:
The staff was courteous and friendly, the bedding in the state rooms were comfortable and the ports that we visited were all interesting and unique. Since the ship had approximately 1000 passengers on board for this cruise, we never felt that we were in a crowded environment. The private excursions that we participated in were well done and superior to the Oceania excursions.
Pros: The staff was courteous and friendly, the bedding in the state rooms were comfortable and the ports that we visited were all interesting and unique. Since the ship had approximately 1000 passengers on board for this cruise, we never felt that we were in a crowded environment. The private excursions that we participated in were well done and superior to the Oceania excursions.
Cons: The on board nightly entertainment needs to dramatically upgraded. The most popular daily on board activity were the art classes, but since they were sold out everyday, we were not able to participate. The excursions for the "highlighted" port, St. Petersburg, were sold out so many of us were not able to participate in our first and second choices. At times, the staff lacks flexibility when something occurs out of the norm which takes away from the experience for paying customers.
Review:
Art classes were a nice addition; cooking classes as well.
Pros: Art classes were a nice addition; cooking classes as well.
Cons: No Cons
Review: Wait-staff service not as attentive as on previous Oceania ships but overall trip on Marina was delightful. Having a bath tub and a separate shower was the best advantage of being on Oceania's larger ships.
Comfortable Cabin, Great Restaurants & Food, Pleasant Staff/Service
Pros: Comfortable Cabin, Great Restaurants & Food, Pleasant Staff/Service
Cons: Shore excursions
Review: Marina is new and beautiful! The ship is not meant for children and there is no children's programming. The public rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Our cabin, a Vista Suite, was very roomy, well laid out and had the luxury appointments one would expect for the price paid and the category of accommodation. The cabin was worth the fare paid. The service in our cabin by our butler was impeccable. The service by the remainder of the crew was also top notch. The food was perfect in every way. The four specialty restaurants, Polo Grill, Jacques, Red Ginger and Toscana were each charming in their own way and the service in each was quite good. The only "up-charge" restaurant, La Reserve, features a set seven course menu with each course paired to a wine. if you enjoy this type of fine dining then the additional charge is well worth it. Book La Reserve early since they only seat 24 guests per night. The only draw back was the shore excursions which are expensive and overall not a good value for the money paid. You will do better to book your own excursions in major ports and/or do self guided tours in the smaller ports. we were so busy touring and dining that we didn't have time for any of the entertainment, but we were told by others that we met on board that it was not particularly memorable. While we didn't use it, we were given a tour of the Canyon Ranch Spa which looked rather attractive and well equipped.
