Tauranga for Rotorua

Written by Tuesday, 13 February 2018

NZ's Yellowstone -- lots and lots of geological features not to mention world famous flyfishing in season. Instead of looking we decided to make use of the thermal oddities and headed for the volcanic Mount Maunganui out on a land spit that had a plethora of thermal baths and all the spa services you can imagine. Very relaxing to be sure. It was quite an interesting walk back to the ship along the sheltered shoreline to observe every kind of water sport you can imagine being enjoyed by so many groups of locals...that included the group preparing the beer and cooking for the picnic as the outrigger racers turned around the point for home.

If you enjoy being active on the water this is the country for you. I imagine that there are so many clubs you can find over the internet to associate yourself with.  For me---I was getting ready for a round of golf so check the next post!
